ABOUT THE AUTHOR

At an early age, Derryl Bohanna Sr. grew up in Houston, TX. 3rd Ward. He has always been curious about the world of money and finances. Without proper direction or guidance about the world of money and finances, he did not pursue a degree in the financing, however, he did pursue a Master's Degree in Business Administration and Management. For years Mr. Bohanna has thought of ways to bring low-and middle-income families together.; young teens seeking knowledge on their own to have serious discussions about finances and money; even in a world that seems to lack resources.

Mr. Bohanna started his journey with his own kids by conducting weekly classes at the time on how to write checks, balance checkbooks, savings, budgeting and being responsible with debit cards.

After years of thoughts and piloting his own program, Mr. Bohanna was inspired to write a series of books, beginning with The Adventures in Moneyland with DeDe, Dez, and Dexx. He hopes to create a dialogue for families and individual kids to understand the world of money and finances.

Understanding generational wealth can be created by educating families and keeping the dialogue active on money management in daily family interaction. The 1.1 trillion dollar buying power of the black community is currently rising and has open the door for parents to actively educate their child on the power of money.

Mr. Bohanna lives in Houston, TX. and shares his time with his mother, siblings, six adult children, and a host of grandchildren.
